My name is Robert Mulder. I have been involved in the apparel industry since 1982, starting off as a small retailer occupying only 400 sq ft. As I learned the business, we quickly opened several more discount / off price clothing stores in Southern California. At one point, we had 4 discount stores operating under the name Evans, Evans Unlimited and Evans Nothing over $9.95.

In the late 1987, we opened our first Clothing Jobbing Business (wholesale) in Downtown Los Angeles, in the heart of the Los Angeles Garment District, located on the corner of 15th and Los Angeles St. There we had a small 1,500 Sq. ft. wholesale warehouse. As we became more successful, we later moved into over 20,000 sq. ft. space, quickly becoming one of the larger wholesales in Los Angeles. We bought and sold well over $100 Million worth of product during our time in Retail and Wholesale. We imported goods from overseas, we produced our own clothing lines, brands including Rebel-Ette, Cotton Stuff and Dessert West apparel.

During this period, we became experts in determining values of garments based on what retailers would be willing to pay us for goods. We understood fashion and market timing. Knowing to have the right mix of goods at the right time of season. We understood the value of name brands and also knew that non-branded apparel was always a tougher sell.

With over 30+ years of buying and selling, not only to the end retail user, but also selling to Nordstrom’s, Macys, Ross Stores and to as low as the $0.99 stores.

Mulder has over 25 years’ experience in wholesale and retail clothing operations and importing. He was a Vice President and a Director of The Mowbray Group (Retail Consultants) and CEO of Evans Unlimited. Mulder has liquidated over $100 million of Off-Price Stock Lots and Closeout merchandise to retail companies throughout the country. He has operated a chain of off-price apparel stores in conjunction with his wholesale operation. He is active in sourcing various products for numerous national retailers from China, Thailand, Viet Nam, Cambodia and Mexico. He has established buying offices in Bangkok, Thailand; Yiwu, China and Taichung, Taiwan and maintains a distribution system allowing direct import shipments from overseas manufacturers to clients around the world. Mulder was also Police Officer with the City of Glendale Ca.
